As part of our series of odd and ever so slightly surreal real estate from around the world, we take a look at this cocoon house in Switzerland designed by architects Bjarne Mastenbroek & Christian Müller.
This house is located close to the famous thermal baths in Vals, Switzerland. The unique structure of the house minimizes the visual impact on the landscape.
With maginificent views of the Swiss alps, this semi-underground house manages to combine an unobtrusive profile whilst maximising interior light. The Swiss authorities were slightly baffled at first when the architectural plans were submitted for approval, but quickly recognised the benefits of a such a structure in a sensitive site.
Check out some slightly more sensible property in Barcelona.
